Get a starter guide of how to create a backup of your voice.

This guide takes you through how to use voice OK, with reading it aloud you are also taking your first steps to train your digital voice.

Voice OK gives you the opportunity to build your voice by reading books aloud and creating a digital backup of our voice for the future.

It takes at least an hour of audio to capture the phonemes in your speech, and from these phonemes, a digital version of your voice can be created.

You are also able to create your Keepsake by answering tailored questions centered around your memories which can be shared with your family for generations to come.

Reading a book

Start by selecting a book, simply tap the ‘Start reading’ button, the first sentence will be highlighted green ready for you to start reading aloud.

Once you have read the sentence  just tap the next button to move through the sentences, this is found at the bottom right of the screen.

If for some reason you want to stop recording you simply tap the red stop button which can be found in the controls at the bottom of the screen, in the middle.

You also have the option to start the recording of your current sentence again if you make a mistake,use the refresh button within the controls in the bottom left of the screen.

This will restart the recording ready for you to start reading.

If you haven’t got time to complete a book all at once, don’t worry. Read what you can, then pause the book by stopping the recording.

From within the story, you can tap back to your library using the arrow in the top left of the screen, the book will remain in the ‘Reading’ section ready when you return to continue reading.

The library holds all the books available to you for reading.

It also shows statistics of how many books you have read or are currently reading, along with the number of sentences you have recorded.

You will notice that there is a reading section, this holds the books you have started reading, it also gives an indication of how long is remaining on each of the reads.

Storage of your recordings

Your recorded sentences are stored only on your device which you can export at any time you wish.

Listening back to a recording
You can listen back to a recording for books you are reading and books you have completed, as long as you have them stored on your device.

To listen back, just tap on the book the recording is in, scroll to the recording you would like to listen back to.

It will then be highlighted green and the controls will appear at the bottom of the screen, just tap the play button.

Re-recording sentences

To re-record a sentence just navigate to the sentence you wish to re-record.

Tap on the sentence, which will highlight in green and controls the will become available at the bottom of the screen. Just tap the re-record button in the middle and begin reading.

Once you have completed re-recording just tap the red stop button.
